"KINTSUGI" UNISEX LEATHER BANDANA

"KINTSUGI" UNISEX LEATHER BANDANA

Inspired by the Japanese art of Kintsugi (the process of repairing broken pottery by mending the areas of breakage as a part of the history of the object, rather than something to disguise), this piece symbolizes embracing the flaws and imperfections of secondhand items and using them to create something new, equally or more beautiful than before. I learned about Kintsugi a few years back and I love what it represents. One day as I was working, I had a bunch of leather scraps from a few jackets I had used, and beside it was a staple gun. And that's how I came up with the idea to make this bandana, inspired by Kintsugi. No staple gun used though - Each staple was individually hammered into place and so worth the time and effort because it turned out exactly as visioned.

Dimensions: 21.5" x 21.5"

QTY: 1/1

Original piece is pre-loved and may show minor signs of wear, especially the underside of the leather
